I hope your week is starting off great so far! I'm so glad that Hurricane Matthew has left us unharmed in Orlando. We're so blessed that storm took a tilt. But, I'm definitely heartbroken for everyone being impacted by Hurricane Matthew in the Caribbean and the Carolinas. Prayers up to them! With all of the craziness of the storm, work and family. From the ease of setting up your account online before you come, to going in and having them provide shoes, lockers, water, fruit, scrunchies, and wipes. CycleBar Winter Park really takes care of you. I had never done a cycling class on this level (Being locked in your pedals), so I was a little apprehensive. But, they were patient and understanding. They also reassured me it was about having a good time versus trying to be the top of the leaderboard.
Yes, they have leaderboards in the cycle theater. It's like a cross between a night club, and a torture chamber (just kidding). Just image great music, lights down low and you jamming/cycling to the beat. It's a great workout, and I'm glad I did it. Sometimes you need to try the things that are going to push you to be your best self, and then make you want to come back for more.

Hello everyone! Sorry, that I’ve been gone for so long. But, I've been super busy with "life" . Plus, my “favorite” and only sister just graduated from college. But, in between all of the craziness, Nubian Heritage blessed me with an opportunity to review the African Black Soap collection, and I’m in love. So, let me tell you all about it!
Happy Sunday everyone! I'm sure you're winding down preparing for the week to begin. Sorry, about the late post. But, I just got back from Diva St. Augustine. In St. Augustine, FL. It was amazing, and extremely hard at the same time. I've never been around so many wonderfully supportive people, all striving to achieve their goals. It's primarily a "race for the ladies". But, it was great to see men out there participating and cheering on the women they loved. Some ladies completed the 5K (3.1 miles), or the half-marathon (13.1 crazy miles!!).
I did the 13.1 miles, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. But, I learned some valuable lessons on the journey today, that I know will help as we move forward to living our best lives. There are lessons all around you, make sure you're open to experience them.
TGIF everyone! There are 28 minutes left in my favorite day of the week, and I wanted to make sure before I go to sleep that I take a moment to check in. Did you discover your "mantra" last night? I really hope you'll decide to do a "new thing", and speak over your life in a different way. I know it can be overwhelming. But, remember every step you take, no matter how small is a step closer to living the life you want! I decided to try a "new thing" this year, and this weekend I'm going to achieve one of my "bucket list" goals. I'm going to do my first half-marathon.
I’m so excited to share this post with you. As we get ready to grow into a lifestyle site. I wanted to get started by talking about my experience with juice cleanses. I’ve really been focused for the past year on getting healthy. I learned late last year that I was borderline pre-diabetic. This occurs when your blood glucose levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be classified as full-blown diabetes. I have a genetic predisposition to diabetes (my mother and all her siblings including her parents were diabetic). That was all the warning I needed to get serious about my health. So, I became a pescatarian (fish-eating vegetarian), and started working out regularly.
