Macy's Heart of Haiti Sun Faced Cushion Review
Giving Back Is Just Like Graduating
It’s that time of the year where many of us are celebrating the graduation of our loved ones. Graduation is a life altering moment that truly deserves to be savored and enjoyed.
This year my sister graduated from college, and watching her walk across that stage was one of the happiest moments of my life. My sister really struggled to earn her degree due to her disability. It may have taken her longer than the norm. But, she made it. She never gave up, and truly values the gift of education.
There are many people in the world that would give up everything they had to go to school. Especially, the people who struggle to get an education because of the poverty they face on a daily basis. Poverty is a worldwide problem that is truly impacting lives on all levels.
One area of the world that has been truly affected is Haiti. After the earthquake in 2010, Haiti was basically leveled. The mass destruction and despair was shown across the globe, and really inspired many to look for ways to take action to help rebuild. One company that decided to lead the charge was Macy’s.
Macy’s has always been known for going above and beyond to meet and exceed their customer’s expectations. So, when they decided to create the Heart of Haiti line to showcase the work of Haitian artisans; and use their talents to create beautiful products for consumers to buy and showcase in their homes. A new opportunity to share the beauty of Haiti’s culture was born, while doing something to help heal a country.
The Heart of Haiti line is comprised of products from beautiful wooden trays to handcrafted cushions. The Heart of Haiti line reflects the love of the Haitian artisans for Haiti, and their desire to create a sustainable way to help rebuild the country they love so much.
I am a member of the Everywhere Society, and the Everywhere Society has provided me with a product for this post. However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. I was sent the Heart of Haiti Sun Faced Cushion, and it’s simply beautiful.
The Heart of Haiti Sun Faced Cushion is an 18x18x6 cotton linen blend cushion that was handcrafted in Haiti. The sun imprint is a beautiful burnt orange that evokes light the moment that you look at it. The sun appears to be smiling at you, and reminds me so much of hope.
To be willing to smile and rise in the face of struggle and adversity is the truest measure of hope. That truly personifies the sun, and the struggle of the people of Haiti. So, this was the perfect gift for me to share with my sister for her graduation. She embodies strength and the determination to live her best life.
Please check out Macy’s “Gifts That Give Hope” section of their stores and online. Macy’s has made the commitment to support organizations that are willing to share or trade their talents for aid. Many of these organizations are looking for an opportunity to share their talents in the forms of gifts that create sustainable income.
That’s what the Heart of Haiti collection is all about. Please click here to check out the collection. Thanks again to Macy’s and the Everywhere Society for an opportunity to have such a beautiful addition to my home!
Until we meet again!

At the time of the earthquake in Haiti, I knew a few people who had family there. She spent many weeks in Haiti trying to sort through things and to help her family rebuild.
