Will You Take The Journey With Me?

31 Days To Balance & Happiness In 2015

Hello everyone! I feel like it’s been a lifetime since I’ve sat down, and put together a post. Please forgive me for the lapse. With all the demands of life (family, work, procrastination, & training for my first half marathon (Diva St. Augustine 12/7), I took a quick little "blog vacation". Well, as Jay-Z would say, “I guess I got my swagger back” wink. That means I’m ready to start plotting out what I want to accomplish in 2015, and I want you to plan with me smile.

It's time to embrace reinvention, and get our lives. I'm so glad I could get up from that position :-)

One of my favorite quotes is, “When you fail to plan, you plan to fail” by Benjamin Franklin. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been much of a planner. I’ve always kind of been one of those “let life happen to me” kind of peoplewink. But, that began to change when I became a caregiver. I’m sure you can relate. As a caregiver, planning can mean the difference between a stress-free day, and a day that rivals sliding down razor blades into a pool of alcohol. I know that sounds a bit graphic. But, planning is peace of mind for a caregiver; and that’s one of the things we crave the most. The other thing that we crave is the ability to do things that make us happy & fulfilled.

Most caregivers aren’t happy. Many of us are just going through the motions. I’ve been there, and still struggle at times with that place. It’s easy to slip down the ”rabbit hole” of depression. But, I’ve found that when I do things that make me feel fulfilled, life becomes better and my family is happier. We always tend to believe that when our family is good, life is good. That’s only one part of the story. We have to be happy too. We’re the caregivers making it happen, and our energy sets the tone for our homes. So, let’s set the tone for 2015!

To help “us” (We’re in this together), for the next thirty days we’re going to focus on what we want to accomplish next year. It doesn’t matter how small or how big the goal. Everything we want to accomplish is a possibility. We’re going to claim what we want to do, speak it over ourselves, visualize it, and believe it’s going to happen. To help keep us honest (me mostly embarassed), I’m going to post my journey with you daily for the month of December. I’m committed to making next year great. So, let’s be great together! Caregivers rule!!!
