Day 18-The Peace in Stillness

13 Days to Balance and Fulfillment in 2015

Do you ever look for moments where the world stops spinning? Of course, I don’t mean literally. But, those moments where it doesn’t seem like there are a million demands on your time. Where you can just sit in one spot, close your eyes, and hear nothing. Those moments of peace and stillness that seems to quiet a part of your soul that has been longing for this moment. Can you feel it? I can, and I was just giving you a verbal picture of what stillness means to me. It’s such an elusive thing for most of us, especially caregivers. But, it’s one moment that we need to tap into more. It’s a critical part of the journey to balance and fulfillment in 2015. There is peace in stillness.

Day 14- A Cheerful Heart

17 Days To Balance And Fulfillment in 2015

Hello everyone! I hope your week is starting off great. I apologize about the “pause in posts”. But, things got hectic with work, family, and the holidays. I just got my Christmas cards to give out tonight (no judgments, please). So, I had to handle “some things” before I came back. But, I’m ready. So, let’s talk about the next step on the journey to balance and fulfillment in 2015, having a cheerful heart.

When I say having a “cheerful heart”, what do you think I mean? Cheerfulness means different things to different people. Many think it’s having a noticeably happy and optimistic approach to life. Or, it can be defined as having the ability to cause happiness through your appearance or nature for others. But, I define it in a totally different way. I think it’s the ability to invoke a feeling of happiness and/or contentment in yourself that allows you to be able to adjust to all situations around you.Cheerfulness

A “cheerful heart” can help you overcome challenges, when life seems overwhelming. It’s one of the key factors that have helped me on the caregiving journey. When I first started out, my heart was definitely not cheerful. I was grieving the loss of my father, and trying to change my life to accommodate my mom. I felt trapped and angry all the time. I was looking for an out.

Day 8- Invest In Yourself

23 Days To Balance and Fulfillment In 2015

Invest In Yourself

Happy Tuesday! I hope your day was great. I wanted to make sure I checked in to see how you’re doing. We’ve been on this journey for a week, and we’ve covered a lot of stuff. Are you feeling overwhelmed? I seem to find inspiration at odd times. So, I’ve been jotting down notes in my phone to keep track of my thoughts. Write down your thoughts, they are going to come in handy as we get closer to putting our plan for 2015 on paper.

If you’ve been scared to join the journey, or just overwhelmed by life like most of us; there’s still time for you to join in. Don’t be scared ;-). We’re in this together, I promise. Change can be painful and scary. But, you can’t keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. Something’s gotta give; and I want us all to be balanced and fulfilled in 2015. It’s time for us to live our best lives. We only have one shot.

So, let’s recap where we’ve been, before we move forward.

Day 7- A Little Helps Goes A Long Way

24 Days To Balance and Fulfillment in 2015

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm sure you're winding down preparing for the week to begin. Sorry, about the late post. But, I just got back from Diva St. Augustine. In St. Augustine, FL. It was amazing, and extremely hard at the same time. I've never been around so many wonderfully supportive people, all striving to achieve their goals. It's primarily a "race for the ladies". But, it was great to see men out there participating and cheering on the women they loved. Some ladies completed the 5K (3.1 miles), or the half-marathon (13.1 crazy miles!!).

I did the 13.1 miles, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. But, I learned some valuable lessons on the journey today, that I know will help as we move forward to living our best lives. There are lessons all around you, make sure you're open to experience them.

Day 4- It’s Time To Learn A New Way!

27 Days to Balance and Fulfillment in 2015

Happy Thursday! Or better yet, “Happy Friday-Eve”! The countdown is beginning to the weekend, and my first half-marathon!! I can’t wait to share that experience with you. I’m nervous and scared, but super excited. This is one of my “bucket list” items about to come true! Just remember, all things are possible. So, I have one question for you today. “How are you feeling the day after?”

Yesterday, we focused all of our energy and love on someone that means the world to us. It was our moment to wake up, and realize that if we can lavish that much love on someone else. There is no reason why; we can’t do that for ourselves. But, before we begin making plans about what we want to do. We have to look at where we’re at right now. Let’s do a little exercise.
