Hi everyone! I hope your week is starting off great. This post has been in the making for quite a while. Since the year has started I’ve been on a journey to lead with love and have lots of beautiful adventures. I’m at a point in my life where I want to have memories over things. That’s how I got here & decided it was time to see some world.
Kingston, Jamaica is my second adventure this year. I went to Cuba in February, and it was life changing. I haven’t been able to share that journey yet. It’s buried so deep in my heart; I just can’t put it into words. I will one day though.
My friend Tash Johnson ignited my journey to Kingston; she’s the Founder of the Love to Vacay Travel Group. Love To Vacay’s mission is to give people an opportunity to explore the world while doing community service in the countries you visit. Plus, Tash is from Kingston and I was so excited about the opportunity to take a trip that gave me a more personal view of Jamaica.
My Love To Vacay adventure really gave me an opportunity to see the authentic side of Jamaica. We went to places that I would never have thought about. We rode through communities and Blue Mountain. We talked to people and their kindness gave me life. We ate amazing food and shared details about our lives. We bonded and encouraged each other in ways you can’t imagine.
My Love To Vacay adventure was amazing. Check them out the website here. Tash is always planning an adventure and she takes care of all of the details. All you have to do is pay for your trip and enjoy. Just leave it all up to her and have an adventure to remember!
I just wanted to hop on and share a video with you. Mental Health is a topic we don't talk enough about. I hope my journey can help you or someone you know. Thank you Brittany Minor a.k.a "Clumps of Mascara for inspiring me to share. Mental Health isn't a 31 day conversation, this is a lifetime journey and we all need to support each other.
Here are the tips that I shared in the video. They've really helped me on the journey & I pray they help you too.
1) Write it down- Sharing your feelings on paper can help you when saying them is just not an option.
2) Don't be judgemental- We all struggle and we can learn from each other.
3) Change the narrative- Understand the power of your words and thoughts. Don't forget you have the power to change your life.
4) Pray constantly or find your faith- My faith in God grounds me.
5) Forgive yourself- It's not always going to be perfect. But, that's ok. Understand that these momentary setbacks or issues are temporary. They only become permanent if you let it be that way.
Finally, be good to yourself. You're so worth it! Mental Health is a daily fight and I'm here with you. Until we meet again!
I hope your weekend was great. I wanted to do a check in post to see how everyone was doing, and I thought it would be great to do a vlog. So, here you go! I'm trying to "step into the light", so no shadows or excuses are going to come from me . I hope you enjoy it, and don't forget to let me know how I can help you live your best life. Let's win together .
Hi everyone! How’s your week going? Has anyone else been struggling with getting back into your routine? My mind still feels like it’s on vacation . I’m getting it together. But, the struggle is so real. Oh well, this is our year to “step into the light”; so I’m hoping the sun can wake me up .
Speaking of “stepping into the light”, how’s that going for you? What have you been doing to get closer to making your dreams a reality? Remember, you weren’t born to stay in the shadows. You were meant for greatness, and the only way to get closer to your purpose is to be intentional with everything in your life.
I know it can be hard to make time for “you.” But, you can’t let that be an excuse. You’re too valuable to the world and your family to be mediocre. So, I want to share five tips that I’m following to live my best life possible.
Invest in yourself: Do something that will enhance you as a person. I’m continuing with my love of audiobooks and podcasts to expose me to new people and ways of thinking. Step out of your comfort zone, you never know where it may take you.
Take care of yourself physically and mentally: I’ve started a “lifestyle change” this year. I’m working out 3-4 times per week, and watching my diet by reducing carbs and sugar. I’m pre-diabetic with a genetic predisposition towards developing Type II Diabetes. So, I’ve made the decision that it’s time to take care of me. My body is a temple, and I need to value it.
Connect with people who will pull you into the light: There are going to be people you come across that speak directly to your soul. You know those people that you feel like you’ve known for years, but you may have just met. Connect with those people immediately. Ask them to lunch, coffee, etc.; just make sure you reach out to them. There is purpose in those connections, and you don’t want to potentially miss your purpose due to shyness or procrastination.
Take a chance: Believe in yourself, and go do something. We tend to be the biggest obstacles in our lives. Stop letting F.E.A.R. (False Evidence Appearing Real) dictate your life. Remember you’re capable of accomplishing anything you put your mind on. There is never failure in trying. There is only failure when you do nothing.
Remember you’re the happiness you’re seeking: I say this often, and I’ll keep saying it until we all remember this without hesitation. “Your happiness is key to everything. No one in your home will be happy, unless you’re happy.” You have to do the work to find your happy. Happiness doesn’t just happen.
You have to invest time and energy into yourself, to discover what makes your heart sing. Remember, you’re worth it.You have to become a top priority in your life.
My next post is going to be on “self-care”. So, let me know what you want to learn more about in the comments. This is our journey, so we’re in this together . Until we meet again, do something for you today!
Part of my journey involves continuing to do things that scare me, and being the love that I want to attract in my life. So, that led me to sit down and have an amazing conversation with Jay Mayo of Right To Real Love.
I had the opportunity to connect with Jay Mayo at Blogalicious 8 in October. Check out my recap of that amazing experience here. Jay’s podcast for Right To Real Love is a Christian Based platform that is a resource for all of us on the journey to be loved the right way. The Right to Real Love community is very active, and really strives to apply practical tips that can impact every area of our life.
Our conversation was on standards, and the importance of stabling and reinforcing them to ensure you live your best life. Check out our conversation here. It’s broken down into three parts to make it work for your schedule.
