#DearMe: A Letter To My Younger Self

Hello everyone! I’m Pamela, and I have a secret. I have a YouTube channel. I know this is not life altering. But, for me it’s major. I’m a tad bit shy and self-conscious at times. So, I’ve kept my YouTube channel on the “low” (that’s slang for secret :-), for almost a year.

I’m trying to work up the courage to start using it more, and I just haven’t felt like sharing it until now. I received an email talking about the #DearMe campaign that YouTube put together in celebration of International Women’s Day today Sunday, March 8, 2015); and I was truly inspired to put together my first “real video”.

Are You Still On Course With Your Vision?

It's time for a vision board "gut check"!

Can you believe it’s March 2nd? Wow, we’re three months into the year. So, I wanted to circle back and do a quick “gut check” to see how everyone is progressing with their plans for 2015. I know it feels like time is flying, But, a quick “gut check” will help us get back in line or help you get started. It’s never too late to live your best life now.

I know I took you along my journey to “live my best life now” at the end of last year. I had to take some time to really put what I wanted to accomplish in 2015 into perspective. As caregivers, I find it’s easy to get distracted. Heck, our lives feel like one big “distraction” “_. We’re pulled in so many directions caring for our loved ones and trying to manage jobs/family that it can feel like you’re in one continuous cycle of crazy.

But, that’s our lives, and we have to accept where we are at the moment in order to move where we want to be in the future. So, that’s where the vision boards come in. This is our opportunity to think about all of the things we want to accomplish for ourselves, and give them life through pictures.

The Most Valuable Lesson I’ve Learned From Caregiving: LIVE!!!!

I can’t believe I’m going to be Forty-Two on Wednesday. I’m so thankful for another year, another opportunity to get it right. I guess God still sees purpose in me cool.

As I think about this new chapter unfolding before me. I think about how my life has changed so much from my Thirties. I was Thirty-Seven when my father passed away, and my mom came to live with my sister and I. We were traveling and living life like any two single women with no children would. We were ready to take on the world. Then, it all changed in a matter of three hours.

But, fast-forward to almost five years later and I feel more alive now then I did then. I never would’ve imagined being able to say that then. I thought my life, as I know it was over. I felt trapped, and couldn’t see the future in front of me. All I could see was fear, pain, and resentment. Thank goodness that was only False Evidence Appearing Real (FEAR).

Small Acts of Compassion Can Change The World

1000 Voices For Compassion

Compassion is such a loaded word. When you hear the word compassion, you always tend to think of the images that flash across our television screens at times of homelessness or poverty. There are so many moments that inspire us to help each other. But, what if I told you that compassion doesn’t just exist on such a large scale? What if I told you compassion can and needs to exist in our everyday life? Would you be able to recognize and implement it?
